ALM publication, Corporate Counsel, has recognized Partner Rachel S. Black in the Mentor & Mentee Collaboration category of its 2024 Women, Influence and Power in Law Awards. The award honors in-house and law firm women leaders and allies who have, “demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law.”
Nominated by one of her mentees, Katy Peaslee, Rachel has excelled at mentoring others in achieving their career objectives through moral, social and intellectual support.
Beyond her individual mentoring, Rachel is a fervent advocate for women and diversity in the legal profession. She founded the Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association of Seattle (“MAMA Seattle”), a bar organization recognized by the Washington State Bar Association. Rachel also founded the national organization MAMA-USA and helps lead Ladder Down, a year-long business development and leadership training program for women lawyers.
