Class Action & Aggregate Litigation
For over thirty years, Susman Godfrey has been one of the preeminent firms in the country in class and mass action cases. We have secured billions of dollars in victories for our clients across many fields, including antitrust and price-fixing cases, securities litigation, consumer class actions, and products liability cases. From the Corrugated Container antitrust class action, where Steve Susman's team recovered $500 million for the plaintiffs, to this year's landmark class-certification victory in an $875 million monopolization case against Comcast, the Firm has a tradition of winning results, against the fiercest adversaries, when the stakes are highest.
Some of the other significant results in class action cases the Firm has handled include:
- The Firm's victory in a nationwide class action against the NCAA, in which over $200 million in benefits were awarded to the plaintiff class;
- Susman Godfrey's recovery of over $150 million in a nationwide antitrust class action against defendants alleged to have allocated the market and fixed the price of Vitamin B4. Susman Godfrey was appointed lead counsel for the class along with Boies Schiller & Flexner and Cohen Milstein Hausfeld & Toll.
- Settlements exceeding $150 million in securities class actions against the Fleming and Alcatel Corporations.
- Appointments as Lead Counsel in the world's largest antitrust class action cases, including most recently the In re Municipal Derivatives class action, in which the plaintiffs, including cites nationwide, seek billions in damages against the world's largest banks, for bid rigging in the market for municipal derivatives.
